A Spring time snow

I had big plans for this last weekend. We were going to have a yard sale, plant tomato plants, and have a day at the park. Mother Nature had other plans for us. We woke up Saturday morning to about 6 inches of snow on the ground. So instead of tomato plants and parks, we took a long nap and made snow ice cream. The kids love it! It may not be the best thing in the world to let them eat but I remember my mom making it for us when we were kids and I lived through it so I think my kids will too.

Hopefully, winter is over and we won't have any more snow or ice this year. I plan on getting my tomato plants going this week, but they will be in pots just in case. There's nothing better than home grown tomatoes. My Aunt Judy says, "The only two things that money can't buy: life's true love and home-grown tomatoes."I love that quote!!!!!

With Spring knocking at our front door, we are cleaning out our house, decluttering, and are ready for a fresh start. Good things are to come.

Here's to sunshine, family, true love, and homegrown tomatoes!!!

I am thankful for.....

Chris and I sat down Tuesday night and had a conversation about what we want out of our lives. We have gotten so wrapped up in day to day living that we have forgotten to be thankful for the life that God has given us. We have a beautiful life. We are blessed in so many ways and we want to make sure we are remembering that each day. We are working very hard to push out the negative thoughts and replace them with postive thoughts. This is a lot harder than we thought it would be but we are amazed at how much better we feel already from doing this for less than a week. We know good things come when we put our faith in ourselves. We thought we were very positive people but when we sat down and thought about it, we realized that we have actually been very negative in our outlook on things going on in our lives. We are changing that. I have noticed a change in our relationship, our parenting, and our day to day lives.

We have had some issues with Blake over the last few months and this week we have already taken the proper steps to help him get through this tough stage in his life. We have talked about it but haven't actually taken any action. I know that our negative attitudes have played a role in Blake's behavior and problems. I know that with our personal changes, we will see huge changes in Blake. Among other things, we are starting and ending each day asking Blake and Brayden what they are thankful for.

We are taking the negative completely out and replacing it with nothing but positive. We are fighting it head on. We know how much more we can get out of this life and we intend to get it.

I am thankful for learning to be thankful!
